Other Causes of Hair Loss
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Cherry_Lynn_Bonachita]Cherry Lynn Bonachita

Excessive loss of hair is not normal. If you are balding, you might want to consider thinking of hair replacements. Other accepts their fate in baldness especially if the cause is hereditary. However, having a balding head cannot be solely blamed on genetic composition. Below are other causes of hair loss:

* A powerful cancer treatment that destroys cancer cells called chemotherapy may also cause hair loss.

* Different kinds of stress coming from different sources like illnesses, surgery, work related or even physical stress.

* Excessive use of different hair tools like hair dryers, curling iron and hair strengtheners. Also hair damage and hair loss may be due to frequent hair beautifying treatments like dyeing of hair * Growing older makes your hair grow less which means hair tends to get thinner and breaks more easily.

* Poor diet like lack of protein or iron.

* Hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism disorders

* Common to children, hair loss may be caused by ringworm

Indication of hair loss depends on the kind you are experiencing. Hair thinning happens slowly so you may not become aware right away of the hairs falling out. When clumps of hair fall out, there is the general hair loss where hair is lost all over the scalp, and there is the focal hair loss meaning only one area of hair is lost. Thinning all over the scalp in women may also mean inherited hair loss while men naturally have balding areas on top of the head or just around the forehead.

Because a person's hair is very important to overall appearance, hair loss is a difficult thing to live with. It may sometimes cause having a low self-esteem especially in women and teenagers. With severe hair loss it would be the time to explore having hair replacements.

Hair Loss - A Men's Only Problem?

Hair Loss - A Men's Only Problem?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Lynn_Seggern]Lynn Seggern

It's a common mis-perception that hair loss or pattern baldness is a problem that affects only men. Well it's time to break the silence of the 'boys club' and prove to the world that hair loss in women is not only real, it's becoming more and more of a problem every day.

The truth is that over 30% of all women will experience some sort of major hair loss at some point in their life and if informed the problem can not only be stopped it can also be reversed!

We all lose hair, we lose some every day. Every human being on the planet, male or female has about 100,000 hairs on their heads. Every day between 50 and 150 of these hairs fall out as part of a normal growth cycle and are replaced by new hairs that are grown by healthy hair follicles.

If a woman's hair follicles are not healthy, they become unable to reproduce and grow new hair and produce what is known as 'vellus' hair or clear, tiny hairs that barely protrude the scalp. As more and more follicles malfunction, patches of thinning hair develop resulting in major hair loss in women.

Women have the ability (just like men) to repair these damaged follicles to a working state by providing their body with much needed nutrients that feed the follicles and give them the ability to produce new hair.

The FDA has approved a hair loss treatment called Provillus that can create real hair regrowth in a relatively small amount of time. Used regularly this female friendly wonder supplement has completely changed the way we deal with hair loss in women.

Are you experiencing female pattern baldness or thinning hair? What if I told you that in a matter of months you could completely turn the problem around and be on your way to regrowing your full, thick lovely locks.

By taking a few simple steps, [http://www.hairlossinwomenweb.com]hair loss in women can be stopped and the damage can be reversed. Treatments For Female Hair Loss

Treatments For Female Hair Loss
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Dickson_Yan]Dickson Yan

Hair loss in women is not as common as male pattern baldness, but still, 50% of women over 40 can suffer from this condition. There are many different causes of female hair loss, the most common cause is androgenic alopecia. This occurs when hair follicles become sensitive to the hormones androgens, which causes the hair follicles to shrink, causes a general thinning of the hair on top.

In both male ad female hair loss, the hair follicles starts off large and thick, then gradually shrinks to produce thinner, finer hair. Where as in males hair loss will result in complete baldness. In women however, the hair follicles reacts more randomly to androgens, resulting in a more diffuse thinning of hair over the crown, and and will generally keep the frontal hair line.

Female hair loss is quite often inherited from generation to generation. Symptoms of hair loss tends to exhibit after puberty, particularly after child birth, slowly experiencing thinning hair on top over the years. Stress is another common cause of hair loss. Other causes include iron deficiency, thyroid conditions and too much hair treatments like perming or colouring.

Treatments

There are good treatments out there for female hair loss. But firstly, it is best to see a doctor to get a thorough check up.

Over the counter lotions containing Minoxidil ( Regaine ) works well in both male and female. The 2% solution is recommended for females and the 5% for males. Some experts says that the 5% is far more effective in female hair loss. The reason the 5% is not approved for females is that it can cause hair growth on the edges of their forehead, and also itching and drying of the scalp. These side effects though are quickly reversed once the treatment is stopped or the concentration is lowered.

The prescription only drug Finasteride ( Propecia 1mg or Proscar 5mg ) has been used successfully in males for hair loss for a number of years. it was originally used in men for prostate disease. it works by blocking the enzyme that converts Testosterone to DHT. It's used for female hair loss has not been approved because they've found that it can cause serious birth defects in women. A number of experts though has successfully and safely trialled in women who can't or won't be getting pregnant. It has shown to have stopped female hair loss and even grown new hairs.

There are some side effects to Finasteride. Some women has experienced hair growth around the hair line and some found the drug can lower their libido. Although with discontinuation with treatment these side effects are reversible.

Another prescription drug that works well is Aldactone ( Spironalactone ). This is a diuretic and Testosterone inhibitor. It works well in some women, but some women found they experienced breast tenderness and other annoying side effects. There are reports that birth control pills high in estrogen can work by overriding testosterone levels, decreasing the chance of androgen related female hair loss. Vitamin supplements like Biotin, Zinc and Iron supplements has also been used to treat female hair loss.

Dry Hair Treatment How To Prevent It

You learn a few things when you live with girls. Probably one of the first things is that they always want their way. The toilet seat must stay DOWN. Big surprise, right? Then there's the fact that they prefer boring flicks over horror and action movies. But, there are a few useful tips you acquire as well. Take dry hair treatment for example. The ladies can typically show you how to keep your dew soft and full of shine. Uhh, actually I have no idea how that benefits most men. Regardless, it's something women need to know. With all that blow-drying, coloring, bleaching, and flat-iron use, it's imperative to understand the repair process.

Although I personally don't spend a great deal of time on my hair, the women I live with do. That's with the exception of my seven year old of course. She could care less if her hair is brushed, dry, wet, or even clean for that matter. It's not on her priority list at all. As for my wife and 18 year old daughter, hair is CRUCIAL to daily appearance. Heck, it's all about the dew. This is why I can wake up on any given day to see them styling, coloring, deep conditioning, straightening, or curling their hair. Now don't take it the wrong way; I see nothing wrong with this. It's awesome when women take pride in their appearances. Even when it takes three hours in the bathroom. Lucky for me I can just go pee behind a tree. No sweat whatsoever. Anyway, with all this harsh styling, grooming and primping of the follicles comes responsibility. We're talking dry hair treatment. Nothing will dry out your dew more than coloring, blow drying, straightening, and curling. All that heat can make your hair feel like straw. Suddenly it's brittle and difficult to manage. Luckily for you a dry hair treatment is within your grasp. The question is; do you want an over-the-counter solution or one you'll find in a salon?

Take your pick from a number of conditioners and dry hair treatments at the local drug store. The hair isle has plenty to select from. This makes it simple for you to manage and care for your hair each and every day at home. Or, you can acquire a professional dry hair treatment at your favorite salon. I take my little girl in for a deep conditioning each month and it helps a lot. Take care of your hair!

Hair loss in women fact that up to 40% of the female population experiences some hair loss

Hair loss in women is culturally unacceptable despite the fact that up to 40% of the female population experiences some hair loss in their lifetime. Most women go to extremes to conceal and treat their hair loss using a broad array of creative camouflaging and hair thickening cosmetic techniques in an attempt to mask the condition the medical and testing for women with hair loss is very involved.

The most difficult cases are women with diffuse hair loss this type of hair loss presents itself as thinning or complete loss at the part line of the scalp with the front hairline being unaffected. Patients with more advanced hair loss, those who are classified as Ludwig II or Ludwig Ill categories, are possible candidates for hair transplantation, if they have an adequate amount of donor density. Transplantation in women with hair loss caused by cosmetic surgery also yields excellent results.

Women who experience hair loss after undergoing a brow lift procedure lose hair behind the frontal hairline. Females who have facelifts usually do not suffer from hair loss, although in some cases, the hair in front of the ears (the sideburns) and above the ears will be lost due to the tightening and trimming of the skin. Female Androgenetic Alopecia Similar to Male Pattern Baldness, (MPB), women's hair loss can take many shapes and forms; however, the causes are much more elusive.

Researchers have classified some forms of female hair loss by using a guide known as the Ludwig Scale. Female hair loss is particularly likely to appear at times of hormonal change, and is generally identified by overall thinning and not patches of baldness. Androgenetic alopecia is the most common form of hair loss in men and women. This type of hereditary hair loss can begin anytime after puberty and usually occurs before age forty.

Telogen effluvium Telogen effluvium is a type of hair loss, which may or may not be related to androgenetic alopecia. Also, hair loss which coincides with menopause is a common cause of telogen effluvium. Some drugs and other substances known to have hair loss side effects are Anticoagulants (especially heparin). It is extremely important to find a qualified physician to treat hair loss. A dermatologist is usually a good start, as they specialize in treating skin diseases including problems associated with hair and hair loss. -Do you have a family history of hair loss.

How You Can Look Really Fashionable And Gorgeous With Significant Hair Loss

Baldness amongst women is something hardly discussed in the fashion press and yet it is estimated that as many as 6 million women in the UK suffer with significant hair thinning, excessive hair shedding, androgenetic hair loss (the female equivalent of male baldness) and significant hair loss through the different forms of alopecia.

For men, baldness has become increasingly socially acceptable, with many men now shaving their heads. If anything this is the preferred trend, currently more acceptable than the ‘comb-over’ or the toupĂ©e. For women it still remains the final taboo, an embarrassment beyond open discussion.

Hair represents so many things to each individual, even if your hair before hair loss could hardly be described as your ‘crowning glory’. Your hair still probably conveyed your general well-being, your sense of style and personality, even your lifestyle. It’s highly understandable that for most women who have spent years defining and refining a hairstyle that makes them recognisable to family, friends and colleagues, should feel devastated at its loss.

With this taboo subject, there is little understanding of the social and psychological pressures women face. Hair loss isn’t about mere vanity for women, it is about trying to maintain a healthy attitude to body image, which is critical to the recovery process as well as coping with longer-term hair loss issues.

So how can you deal with those issues? How can you repair the damage to your self-esteem, your confidence, your body image, your look, your style?

Two common options spring to mind: wigs – improving all the time, with the more expensive light weight wefted and monofilament models and wig personalization cutting services becoming more available. However wigs in the summer months can prove hot and itchy when worn over prolonged periods of time. So let’s focus on the second fashion alternative - hats/ scarves. There is headwear available on the market specifically for women with hair loss, focusing on the practicalities of hiding that hair loss. Depending on your point of view, you could feel this actually highlights the problem, drawing attention to it, rather than softly distracting the eye away from it. And this doesn’t do much to build the self-esteem.

Most women report their biggest concern with the onset of significant hair loss is that they feel everyone is looking at them. How do women get to feel comfortable in their own bodies again or indeed feel they can simply blend in wherever they go? In fashion terms it’s all in the planning, take a good look in your wardrobe and figure out what you like to wear, what you feel good in and what other people tell you really suits you. List the number of complete outfits you can put your hand on and then think about how you’re going to accessorise those outfits to go with your new hair loss image. Jewellery is key, if you only wear gold or silver consider now picking up colour in a piece of jewellery, i.e. earrings or necklace that complement the colours of an outfit.

This also means coordinating headwear, coordinating because if you’re trying to ‘blend in’ it shouldn’t dominate your outfit, it should complement it and mimic the style of the outfit. The hat colour should ideally coordinate with you i.e. a colour selected because you know it suits your eyes/skin tone and the colour reflects something in the chosen outfit. Mimicking style can be hard for some people, for most of us it is ‘everyday casual’, in which case soft fabric hats are the most accessible style to find and feel comfortable in. Find a hat style that suits you and stick with it, duplicate it, triplicate it, purchase it in as many colours as you like to suit your key outfits. Suddenly life will feel ordered and calm, we’ve talked to women, who once they knew they were looking the best that they could, their confidence soared and they felt able to cope. Fashion for them becomes like that magical cloak but they don’t disappear, it simply deflects any curiosity and they can get out there and get on with life and focus on the important issue of recovery.

How do you achieve this? With a supportive network and an openness to experiment and work at achieving that new image. Headwear is nothing to be afraid of or concerned about, it is simply another item of clothing. Chose it well and it will serve you well and make you feel gorgeous, and people will only see the hat, your style, and you!

Genetic Hair Loss

by: Kaelem Steven

Hair loss is the most dreaded problem among humans as it directly affects the person’s outlook. Hair loss can be caused by a number of things like using harsh chemical soaps, shampoos, gels, stress or imbalanced diet. Certain illness can also cause hair. These are all causes in hair loss but the most common type of hair loss that affects approximately 95% men and 70% women is known as hereditary hair loss also known as Genetic hair loss. Genetic hair loss is more commonly observed among males than females and usually starts at the age of 30. The reason for this is that this type of hair loss depends on the extent to which the male hormone testosterone is converted in the scalp to another hormone dihydroxytestosterone. Although genetic hair loss takes place usually after the age of 30 in many cases but in some cases it starts to happen as early as your late teens. Genetic hair loss comes usually from the mother’s side of the family.

Genetic hair loss occurs due to the shortening of the hair's growth cycle, this in turn makes the hair thinner and shorter, and a time comes when the growth stalls completely. It is also responsible for developing bald patches and interacts with the hair follicles. The hereditary hair loss has a very predictable pattern, which is often followed from generation to generation so you can predict by seeing your father and his father how you will go. By the time men reach 50 years of age 50% of the men become bald. In case of men hair loss usually occurs on the crown or the top of the head starting with a receding hairline and leaving healthy hair on the back and sides of the head.

Through certain preventive measure people can slow down the process of baldness. These include using products that make the hair healthy and avoid certain things that damage hair and make them weak, as weak hair fall of easily.

Why You Have Hair Loss as You Age

by: Rudy Silva

As you know, most of you at some point will start experiencing hair loss. There are some of you that became bald in your twenties or thirties. But most you, you will lose your hair gradually and then one day you will notice your hair thinning in one area. This occurs because as you age your health deteriorates.

Poor health and hair loss

There are quite a few areas that are related to hair loss. But in general they are all tied together in a fine puzzle. The major reason for hair loss that I discovered was poor health, both physical and psychological. When you are in poor health, you will exhibit numerous symptoms and one that becomes obvious is hair loss.

The extreme poor health condition is when people are subjected to chemotherapy. All of the body systems are poisoned creating massive poor health. All hair is lost.

Hair loss and the endocrine system

Hair loss relates to your body's endocrine system. It is these organs, thyroid, adrenal, thymus, and pancreas that control the function of your body's health by the hormones that they release. One hormone that controls hair loss and hair growth is testosterone.

Hair loss and testosterone

Testosterone is frequently converted to a substance call DHT by a specific enzyme. It is DHT that affects hair growth by disturbing your hair's follicle and destroying it. When the endocrine organs fail to control testosterone there is an excess, much of this excess is converted to DHT.

Women also have testosterone but this is balanced by the high level o estrogen that they have. But when the estrogen balance is upset, women will see hair loss because of more testosterone in their blood.

Diet and hair loss

The food you eat also determines how much testosterone is created in your body. It is important to eat a special type of natural diet to maintain healthy organs that can keep a hormonal balance in your body, so that you have good body health.

When you are not in the best of health and use various types of medication, your hormones are out of balance and your body is in need of nutritional help. It is the vitamins and minerals that help the body rebalance it self, but it is best that these nutrients come from raw food. This is why a colon and blood cleanse is important to do to give your body some help in providing nutrients and giving it a rest from processing heavy foods.

Stress and hair loss

Then there is stress. This is a real hair killer. Stress uses up a lot of your vitamins and minerals. Your body protects you from stress by releasing cortisone and by adjusting your hormone levels to an un-natural condition. Stress creates an imbalance in your hormones and now your hair loss increases and your health starts to deteriorate.

The one thing I realized as I researched why I experience hair loss 15 years ago is that if you seek to improve your health in a natural way, your health gets better and your hair loss stops and maybe you may even grow some hair back.

Hair Loss In Women - Six Causes

by: Mike Jones

Six Causes of Hair Loss In Women are:

#1. Hair loss in women is often connected to pregnancy. Three to six months after delivering a child, many women notice a degree of hair loss as the hair goes into a resting phase because of the physiological impact of the pregnancy on the body.

#2. A woman's body can also be greatly affected by intensive diets and losing a lot of weight in a short period of time.

#3. Severe illnesses and infections can put great stress on the body thus triggering the hair into a resting phase which result hair shedding. Often the body recovers naturally within 3 to 9 months and the hair begins to regrow until it almost resembles its original condition.

#4. Hair loss in women can be aggravated further by improper use of chemical hair treatments such as dyes, tints, bleaches, straighteners, and permanent waves. Generally, healthy hair can undergo these treatments without showing signs of stress, if they are not done too often. However, if hair is breaking or if it becomes brittle it is best to stop these procedures until the hair has grown out.

#5. The constant pulling of hair with styles such as ponytails and braids can sometimes cause Hair loss in women. Avoid pulling the hair tight with these styles.

Female Pattern Baldness: What Causes Hair Loss In Women?

by: Ashish Jain

So many men go bald and nearly all women seem to have heads full of hair. The question, naturally is if baldness discriminates on the basis of gender. That would be grossly unfair. Well, it would be unfair but the fact is even women suffer from hair loss. And if there is something that goes by the expression 'male pattern baldness', there is also a thing called 'female pattern baldness'.

Of course, there is no denying the fact that baldness is more prevalent and more apparent in males than in females. However, women suffer more than men when they sense that they are losing hair at an abnormal pace because females tend to attach a great deal of importance to the quality and quantity of hair. And why shouldn't it be, given the fact that hair are an integral part of feminine charm.

In some cases, female baldness can be hereditary. Mostly, menopause brings hair loss in women, which is determined by one's genetic heritage. In other words, if a female loses hair in menopausal stage, it is because her mother too suffered from hair loss at that particular stage of her life.

Another cause for female baldness are certain ailments, especially those that come with extended bouts of high fever. Among them are typhoid fever and scarlet fever. Such fevers are a medically established cause of hair loss. There are certain medications, the use of which may also result in hair loss. But in such cases hair loss is gradual.

Malnutrition and a dysfunctional endocrine system have also been found to trigger a slow hair loss.

Fungal infections can also cause hair loss. These fungal infections are chronic bacterial attacks or a result of the presence of ringworms.

Chemotherapy tends to destroy all the rapidly developing cells including the hair follicles, as they also consist of active cells. The baldness thus caused is not temporary but total.

A condition called Alopecia universalis also causes permanent loss of body hair including those on the head and those that form the eyelashes and eyebrows. The causes of the ailment is not fully known and the research is on in this area.

What is quite apparent is a fact that female hair loss does not set in early phase of life unless there are some other reasons for it, like some ailment or malnutrition. So, no cause for beauty-worries for the young ladies and for the relatively older ones, too. Things are pretty much bright unless the genes are unfavourable.

Make your hair grow faster

Make your hair grow faster

It is impossible to keep up with the latest hair trends. Celebrities are seen one week with incredibly short hair and a few weeks later, they have long and wavy locks. Go figure. Then again, they have the money to get hair extensions whenever they so desire. Most normal people, like us, just want to find simple ways to make your hair grow faster. As a hair stylist, this is one of the most common topics that people ask about. Customers will come in with products that they purchased that were guaranteed to make your hair grow faster, and want to know how it works. I’ve seen some people spend way too much money obsessing over it. The sad truth is that there is no definite way to make your hair grow faster. It is just a fact.

If you are desperate to have longer hair in a hurry, you can spend the money on extensions, which I don’t recommend. You may end up spending a small fortune and damaging your hair intensely. You can also buy a wig. Other than that, you are simply forced to accept that fact that your hair will only average growth of ½” per month. If you do the math, you’ll realize that is only 6 inches of hair growth a year. While there are no guaranteed ways to make your hair grow faster, there are some things that you can do to not damage your hair and keep it healthy. It is a fact that healthy hair will grow much better than unhealthy hair.

Many pregnant women find that their hair grows faster than normal. Yes, that is true. However, it isn’t from the vitamins or pre-natals, contrary to beliefs. It is from the onset of hormones suddenly surging inside the body that come with pregnancy. Sure, taking vitamins will help you stay healthier no matter if you’re pregnant or not, but they won’t make your hair grown faster. They’ll just help to make your hair healthier as well. Some other things that you can do to ensure that your hair remains healthy and able to grow at its intended rate are to avoid hot water and hot hair dryers. Heat can dry out your hair more than you would realize. Washing your hair in lukewarm water and drying your hair on a cooler setting will help to avoid any damages. Maintaining a healthy diet with plenty of protein will allow your hair to remain healthy as well.

Surprisingly enough, smoking and caffeine can cause your hair to grow at a slower rate as well. The best ways to make your hair grow faster is to keep yourself and your hair healthy. That may require changing some of your eating habits, lowering some stress levels and altering some of your daily routines. Not only will it help to make your hair grow faster, simply because you aren’t hindering its growth, but your body will remain healthier as well.

All men know that they will have to deal with eventual hairloss. It's a known fact that the only way male pattern baldness can be avoided is by wearing a wig or by turning to surgical implants. Well the situation is not quite this grim; there areother ways to avoid baldness.

This Profollica information article will point out one of the few products to help avoid hair loss. Information on Profollica Profollica is an all natural safe formula which can be used for both men and women without any harmful side effects. Profillica does not affect dyed or permed hair, and it is easy to use without requiring medical prescriptions. For the best results possible, Profollica uses three products: -A Shampoo - A Nutritional Supplement - Gel Profollica has been developed by using the latest research information in hair loss.

DHT also increases the secretion of sebum (oil) on the scalp which fills the pores eliminating the potential regrowth of hair follicles. Profollica inhibits the dihydrotestosterone from binding with the receptors on the hair follicles and also reduces the level of dihydrotestosterone inside the body.

The Profollica package contains: - A shampoo with are commendation for daily usage which reduces hair and scalp dryness and removes excess sebum releasing the hair follicles allowing their unobstructed growth; - An activator gel which stimulates the hair growth by getting the hair back into the antigen (hair growth) stage and it also helps revitalize the hair follicles and reduces the DHT levels on the scalp; - Anutritional supplement in the form of a pill which provides nourishments to the hair, containing more than twenty vitamins, minerals and amino acids which help the hair stay healthy.

The pills also help increase blood flow to the follicles which stimulate them into producing healthier hair. Profollica Ingredients The most important ingredients used in Profollica are: - KigeliaAfricana Extract which blocks enzyme; - Salvia Sclarea Extractwhich stimulates and attaches to DHT; - Gingko Biloba Extractwhich stimulates microcirculation in the scalp; - Panax GinsengRoot Extract which provides scalp stimulation for increasing thehair depth; - Cinnamomumb Zeylanicum Extract which removes DHTand bacteria from scalp by irrigating them.

By Arturo Ronzon

If you are a man who is losing his hair, you want to try to do something about it. You probably know it is next to impossible to prevent hair loss completely. There are some things you can do now, that will enable you to slow down or prevent hair loss.

There are many different formulas on the market today, that claim to treat or prevent hair loss, but how many of them really work? One product to prevent hair loss is Procerin. Procerin benefits are greatest for younger men between the ages of 18-35 and for those whose hair is still in a growth phase. This product is not suitable for women. This product has been shown to have an 88 percent success rate.

Another product to prevent hair loss is Profollica. A revolutionary regrowth formula, it is designed to combat androgenetic alopecia. This is the main cause of male pattern hair loss. This product has been shown to have an 85% success rate.

A product called Hair Genesis, is based on a scientifically studied hypothesis and was developed by a hair-restoration research expert. This scientist is mostly responsible for the development of the 3-part HairGenesis treatment line. This product has been shown to have an 85% success rate.

Propecia is one of the first products that were widely known to prevent hair loss in men. Propecia was well tolerated in clinical tests. There were only a very small number of men, who were shown to have sexual side affects. This occurred in less than 2 percent of the men tested. Some sexual side effects included less desire for sex, difficulty in achieving erection and a decrease in the amount of semen secreted. When men who experienced these side effects stopped using the product, the symptoms went away. Propecia is the only prescription medication that has FDA approval for the treatment of male pattern baldness. Propecia was shown to have only a 66 percent success rate.

Before you start using any product to prevent hair loss, be sure you know the risks and the side effects you may be facing. Hair Growth Supplements For The Treatment Of Male Hair Loss

By Andy Jefferson

There are a variety of different hair growth supplements on the market today. Each is designed to treat hair loss in males and to treat it. The current top five hair growth supplements, Procerin, Profollica, Hair Genesis and Propecia all claim to be effective in male hair loss. This is a synopsis of each to allow you to make your own determinations.

Procerin

This product has received some of the highest marks from review panels and consumers alike. Tests are showing as much as an 88% success rate. It was given great reviews not only on its results, but the price got raves as well. The service also put it over the top as one of the best herbal hair growth supplements currently on the market. It seems that Procerin is most effective on men in the age groups of 18 to 35 and men whose hair was still in a growth phase, but overall it received very positive reviews.

Hair Genesis

Hair Genesis received reviews from consumers who seemed rather pleased with the product line. That, and the 85% success rate from reviews, places this botanically derived hair growth treatment in the top ranks. Hair growth supplement is designed to stop hair loss so that regrowth can occur. Their oral supplements are designed to treat hair loss from a systematic viewpoint and block the progression of DHT before it is able to attack and damage the hair follicle. This stunts the progression of male pattern hair loss.

Profollica

This hair growth supplement received lower reviews but tests still showed a success rate of about 85%. Consumer reviews have given satisfactory ratings on this product that is a hair loss solution through a regrowth formulation that is said to be revolutionary in that it is designed to specifically treat androgentic alopecia. Androgentic alopecia is the number one cause of male pattern hair loss. This three step formula treats that problem with their own unique formulation of hair growth supplements.

Propecia

Propecia is the only prescription medication that is approved by the FDA to treat male pattern baldness. This hair growth supplement received positive reviews with a higher than average success rate of 66%. Some of the men taking this product, though, did experience sexual side effects. However, these side effects occurred in less than 2% of the men who took it and once they stopped treatment, the side effects went away. It seems to most effectively treat hair loss on the top of the head (vertex) and the middle front of the head (anterior mid scalp) in men only.

Overall, these products offer impressive success rates. The reputations of the companies are all either excellent or good and the customer support on these companies all receives high ratings. Procerin, Profollica and Hair Genesis all offer guarantees and shipping of these three products is relatively fast, usually within a week. Choosing hair growth supplements is a personal choice. Make sure that you are well informed when you choose yours.

Profollica - Useful for Hair Loss?

By Andreas Henderson

If you are a male suffering from hair loss, you most likely want to do something about it. Unfortunately, in many instances it is impossible to completely prevent hair loss. However, there are certain approaches that can enable you to remarkably slow down or prevent hair loss.

Today, several products on the market are designed to stop hair loss. The big question is, do anyone of them really work? The most popular product is Rogaine, an over the counter hair loss remedy. It is known to have some side effects such as itchy scalp and in some cases changes in the blood pressure.

Another product designed to stop hair loss is Profollica. It is a new formula that acts in many ways. It combats androgenetic alopecia by providing the hair follicles with needed nutrients and increases the blood flow to the hair follicles. The nutrients lowers the levels of DHT, dihydrotestosterone, on the scalp, which is the main cause of male pattern hair loss.

Some of the most important ingredients in Profollica includes the following:

Panax Ginseng Root Extract which provides stimulation to the hair follicles, thereby increasing the hair depth;

Kigelia Africana Extract which blocks certain enzymes that are harmful for hair follicles;

Cinnamomumb Zeylanicum Extract which lowers the amount of DHT and bacteria from scalp by irrigating them.

Salvia Sclarea Extract which stimulates and attaches to DHT, rendering it harmless;

Gingko Biloba Extract which stimulates microcirculation in the scalp;

These ingredients are spread between a three component system:

Shampoo

Gel

Nutritional Supplement

As always, be sure to know the risks and possible side effects from your product of choice. Losing your hair, although depressing, is not the end of the world. Sometimes, hair loss is better than the side effects.

Natural Hair Care Products

My mother always told me that just because something is natural doesn't mean that it is good for you. Deadly nightshade, for example, is natural. Hemlock is natural. Many, many different natural things will kill you. Nevertheless, I have still always been prone to buying things with the word “natural” on the packaging. Whether it is natural food, natural cosmetics, our natural hair products, I am a sucker for it all. I guess it is because I am well-meaning. I want to do my part to help the planet, although I am unwilling to give up most of the creature comforts that we all take for granted. I wish I had been a little bit more skeptical about All of the so-called natural health junk. Natural hair care sure did a number on my hair.

You see, I went into a natural hair salon looking for treatment. I was having all kinds of problems. In the first place, I have always had dry hair. No matter what my diet is like, my hair is dry and frizzy and prone to tangling. I had tried many different hair care products, but none of them helped. I thought the natural hair care was probably be my best bet. I didn't want to go into a more conventional hair salon, you see, where they would put harsh chemicals into my hair. I figured that natural haircare would involve gentle herbs that would nourish my hair, treating any problems I had without putting too much stress on it.

In addition to natural hair care for frizzy hair, I needed natural baldness treatment as well. My hair had been slowly but surely thinning for years, and Rogaine had done nothing to help. In short, when I went there into that natural hair care salon, I was looking for a miracle. What I got was more akin to a nightmare. After the natural hair care, my hair was so oily that I couldn't even brush the tangles out! If anything, the rate of balding seemed to increase. Rather than being the gentle treatment that I had expected, the natural hair treatment was actually quite harsh and unpleasant. I know that this isn't the typical experience that people have when they get hair care natural products. If anything, these products tend to be too weak rather than strong enough to be damaging. Even so, it should serve as a warning to people – my mother was right about natural products.

Paul Mitchell hair care is synonymous with style

Paul Mitchell hair care is synonymous with style. This well-know icon of beauty salon retailers has made a mark on the hairstyling community. There is good reason for this company’s great success and outstanding reputation. Paul Mitchell haircare products have stood the test of time but they did have a humble beginning.

Years before this hair product giant made way into the everyday practice of hairstylists and customers across the globe, Paul Mitchell haircare was unknown. Everyone has to start somewhere. Even the best and the brightest have to make their way through the door. It all begins with a great product and a determined entrepreneur like Paul Mitchell.

I recently watched an interview on a popular news channel that focuses on business. This well-known character shared a little information about the humble beginnings of Paul Mitchell haircare products and he also offered a little insight and encouragement for business-minded people everywhere.

Paul talked about his faith in his wares. This is the very beginning of a successful venture. If you have a great idea, then stand by it. Paul Mitchell hair care products have done so well because they are really, really good hair care supplies. However, there are plenty of great products out there but it takes an equally great effort to get the word out.

In order to illustrate his determination and tenacity, he shared a little secret on how to get even the busiest beauty salon owner to give you more time than he initially expected. Since he was so confident about his product, he would put a little dab in the beauty salon owner’s palm.

This not only allowed the owner to feel the texture and consistency of the Paul Mitchell haircare product, it also gave Paul a moment to have the owner’s undivided attention. The door-to-door sales approach was the launching pad for this line of hair care supplies. Some may wonder how anyone could succeed with this old-fashioned approach.

It took relatively little time for the product to become a household name. Now you can’t enter a beauty salon or beauty supply store without seeing the well-known products on the shelves.

I wonder if Paul Mitchell haircare products would have skyrocketed into beauty supply history if the person behind the famous name was not so tenacious. There are plenty of opportunities out there. If you have an outstanding idea or product, you owe it to yourself to give it your best shot.
